According to the "Catalogue of Meteorites", "two masses of about 80 kg and 20 kg, respectively, were found in 1810 and 1819". A third specimen was located in 1911, and several other examples of this attractive pallasite are reported to have been recovered, with the latest find having been made in 1979. This very attractive specimen was obtained from a Russian museum in May 1999. It is a very thick quarter section of a full slice with the front and back, and two edges showing saw cut surfaces. The front of the specimen has a fairly good polish, and the other cut surfaces are slightly rough. For preservation of the fresh metal, all cut surfaces have been coated with Krylon. The top and one side, as shown, are in natural condition as collected. It is not known how long ago this specimen was collected, or when the Brahin pallasite originally fell, but the olivine and metal are both in very fresh, unweathered condition. The Olivine ranges in color from yellow-golden, to dark greenish-brown.
